The New York Jets had a notable absence in their recent scrimmage in running back Le'Veon Bell. Head coach Adam Gase has since acknowledged that the team is taking a cautious approach with his participation ahead of the 2020 NFL season.

Bell was reportedly limited in practice due to a hamstring issue. However, he took to Twitter to clear the air on his health:

Bell followed it up with another tweet touching on the tightness of his hamstring.

Bell's comments indicate that he is not pleased with the approach taken by Gase and the Jets with the season just weeks away from starting. As a result, this has only added more potential concerns amid all the drama surrounding the team this offseason.

Reports indicate that Gase is having Bell share first-team reps with running back Frank Gore. The increased workload for Gore has shown the coaching staff that he is not slowing down in Year 16.

Gase wanting to take action to ensure that New York's franchise running back is 100% for the 2020 campaign is certainly understandable. Regardless, it is clear that the limited activity is having a negative impact on his preparation for the season. After all, players are already coming off an unprecedented offseason due to the restrictions placed in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

If the Jets hope to get as much bang for their buck as possible from Bell's lucrative deal, it is imperative that they allow the three-time All-Pro to properly find his footing by the time the regular season starts.
