The rivalry between Sixers big man Joel Embiid and Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond has had its first moment of the 2018-19 season.

Andre Drummond fouled out in the fourth quarter after fouling Joel Embiid, and then got ejected after picking up his second technical foul.

In typical Joel Embiid fashion, the talented Sixers center celebrated and started taunting the Detroit crowd.

Last season, Embiid said Drummond doesn't play any defense after scoring 30 points and grabbing nine rebounds against him. Drummond saw the comment and replied on Twitter by saying, “See you Dec 2nd.”

Then, Joel Embiid said Andre Drummond can't shoot ahead of their next matchup. Drummond countered by saying Embiid couldn't play in back-to-backs because he was so injury prone. So yeah, these two All-Stars have no love for each other, and it only makes the NBA better when big men have a budding rivalry.

Before getting ejected, Drummond had 14 points and 16 rebounds. Embiid had 30 points before the game went into overtime.

Nevertheless, this was a crazy moment from what was an insanely great game. It might only be a few games into the NBA season, but the events feel more like playoff games even though it's just October.
