Tuesday brought a bizarre string of happenings to the NBA offseason with plenty of rumors, front offices disbanding, unexpected trades, and now Kawhi Leonard.
The San Antonio Spurs star has been nothing short of a sensation over the past few years. A not so common combination of defensive prowess and offensive talent, Leonard has become one of the league's best two-way players, and now leads the Spurs into the future as the main option.
One way to recognize Leonard besides his skill on the court is his patented cornrows. He's probably the last star player in the likes of Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony to keep his hair braided and the look became attached to who he is, but not any longer.
Something strange is definitely happening and it couldn't have ended the day in a much more surprising manner as Leonard was seen in a photo Tuesday night from a gym with Xuewen Zhang, a Chinese Basketball Association player, with what appears to be a new haircut.
Yes, Leonard seems to have cut off the braids which have been his own staple style since he was a kid, as far back as 2004. We can only hope his strength is not really in his hair as he approaches next season looking to continue where he left off before suffering an ankle injury that ended his season in the conference finals.
The internet wasn't ready and posted a range of different emotions to such a surprising photo.
This officially makes this summer already the strangest offseason yet.

This wouldn't have been more appropriate on any day except one as chaotic as Tuesday.
