Everyone has seen lately a tremendous share of exaggerated claims, mostly coming from the mouth of LaVar Ball, who said he could beat Michael Jordan one-on-one. But just before everyone could settle down and file that comment under garbage, here comes another hot take, this time from retired NBA player and current BIG3 competitor, Kenyon Martin.

In a guest appearance on Fox Sports' Speak for Yourself with Cowherd and Whitlock, Martin threw his hat in the ring of summer's wildest pronouncements, boldly saying that his BIG3 team, Trilogy, can take down the Los Angeles Lakers, not in a three-on-three affair, but in a five-on-five full-court game. Whoa.

For those wondering, Trilogy is made up of Martin, Al Harrington, Rashad McCants, James White, and Dion Glover. The team's average age is 36-years-old with the youngest being White at 34. Martin sports a kiss mark tattoo right on his neck, so we should know better take his words with regards to this matter seriously.

Martin's overflowing confidence, however, could be coming from the fact that Trilogy has yet to lose in the BIG3, as the team sits alone atop the league standings with a 6-0 record. That Martin thought they could beat the Lakers today might also be a sign of how far the respect for Los Angeles has fallen in recent seasons with the team unable to finish with a winning record and make the playoffs in four seasons.
