There were plenty of teams that threw their hat in the Kevin Durant free agency sweepstakes.

Durant eventually signed with the Golden State Warriors where he's having another fantastic year. That hasn't stopped the questions coming his way about why he didn't choose to sign with other teams.

Prior to the matchup between the New York Knicks and the Warriors, reporters asked Durant why he declined to sign with the Knicks. He gave a plain answer with no dancing around the question.

“Uh, because I didn't want to.”

Carmelo Anthony spent time recruiting for the Knicks and it intrigued Durant admittedly. That wasn't enough to get a meeting between the team and Durant's agent, but at least he considered the possibility.

It's hard to come to any conclusions when Kevin Durant himself closed the chapter on any speculations about his choice of teams.

Choosing a 73-win team over a 32-win team is a no brainer for any player looking to win.
