Sacramento Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield is optimistic that he’ll be able to be back in action this Wednesday when the team faces off with the Los Angeles Lakers at home.

Hield has missed the Kings’ last two games due to an ankle injury, but according to Sean Cunningham of ABC10, the two-guard appears to be back, or at least close, to 100 percent, which means it’s possible that Hield will take the floor against the Lakers.

In addition, athletic trainer Manuel Romero has released a video showing Hield practicing and moving well, suggesting that the former Sooner gunner has his mobility back. It’s an encouraging sign for the Kings, though it’s still not clear when exactly will Hield rejoin his teammates on the court.

In case Hield remains sidelined this Wednesday, the Kings will likely give increased minutes to Bogdan Bogdanovic and Garrett Temple again for scoring from the wings.

The Kings are just 24th in the league in scoring, averaging just 102.8 points per game. Having Hield back should address some of their scoring woes, but their problem on offense goes beyond Hield’s absence.

Hield is currently second on the team with 11.6 points on 41.9 percent shooting from the field.
