The Sacramento Kings took Keegan Murray fourth overall in the 2022 NBA Draft and many fans believed they should've selected Jaden Ivey instead, who ultimately went to the Detroit Pistons. Well, Murray sure made all the doubters eat their words in the Summer League as he was named MVP after a dominant showing in the Sin City.

The former Iowa standout dazzled in Vegas, averaging 23.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and two assists while shooting 50% from the field and 40% from downtown. The definition of efficiency. Although it's not NBA competition, Keegan Murray proved that he's ready for the next level and could very well make an immediate impact for the Kings in Year 1.
Sacramento went 3-2 in the Summer League and Murray played in four contests. There have been some impressive names to be named MVP in this tournament in past years, including Murray's new teammate Davion Mitchell, Cam Thomas, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Clarke, and Tyus Jones. While not many of these have translated to legitimate stars, Damian Lillard is an exception when he won ROTY in 2012-13.
Murray has impressive length and athleticism while showing the ability to also play solid defense. Alongside Mitchell and De'Aaron Fox, he should also feed off their playmaking.
The Kings will undoubtedly be thrilled to see how well Keegan Murray played. They definitely didn't need to draft another guard like Ivey and instead shifted their focus to another wing like Murray. Early on, it looks to be the right decision, and hopefully, he can make his presence felt in 2021-22.
