Sacramento Kings big man Marvin Bagley III is expected to be out for two more weeks as he progresses from a left knee bone bruise, and he is expected to resume full basketball activities by then, according to the team.

Bagley has had a mixed bag of a rookie season under head coach Dave Joerger, as he lends to playing the center position naturally as the team's leading shot blocker, but often finds himself as a power forward playing alongside Willie Cauley-Stein or Kosta Koufos.

The few times Bagley has been paired with Nemanja Bjelica have been pure heaven for the Kings, as Bjelica's shooting allows the Kings to spread the floor even more and gives them more options on offense, while only sacrificing a little defensively.

The Duke product is the only one coming remotely close to a block per game (1.04), and his absence eliminates any sort of shot-blocking presence for this young team, which has won three out of its last five, including a rousing thriller over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.

Bagley has missed the team's last seven games with the injury after exiting a Dec. 14 game against the Golden State Warriors after only five minutes on the floor.

The second overall pick shows plenty of promise moving forward, but will first need to be put in a favorable position to develop, as he's currently stuck in a big man logjam under the current roster construction.
