Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports that Sacramento Kings center Willie Cauley-Stein wants to move on from the team.

“I really think Willie needs a fresh start,” Roger Montgomery, a representative of Cauley-Stein's agent Roc Nation Sports, told The Sacramento Bee. “Based on how things have gone for him there in Sacramento, I just think it’s time for Willie to move on and we’d really like him to move on.”

Montgomery also requested the Kings not to offer Cauley-Stein the qualifying offer. This would allow the 7-foot center to enter the market as an unrestricted free agent.

Cauley-Stein has spent the first four years of his career in Sacramento. The Kings selected him with the 6th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft.

A star in his college days in Kentucky, Cauley-Stein hasn't had the break out season he expected since he arrived in the league. Obviously, with his agent's statement, it appears like Cauley-Stein feels like he hasn't gotten the opportunity to showcase his full potential in Sactown. Perhaps a change in scenery can help the 25-year old take the next step.

Cauley-Stein averaged 11.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists last season with the Kings, while shooting at a 55.6 percent clip from the field.

The emergence of All-Rookie first team big man Marvin Bagley III may have something to do with his decision to want out of Sacramento.

Last year's no. 2 overall pick showcased plenty of upside, especially towards the end of the year. Perhaps Cauley-Stein saw the writing on the wall in terms of his future role with the team.
