LeBron James caused quite a stir lately when he spoke about the New York Knicks passing up on Dennis Smith Jr. with the eighth overall pick in this year's draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers star thinks that the Dallas Mavericks rookie is a really good player and should've ended up representing the Knicks instead. However, as it turned out, New York selected Frank Ntilikina, who they believe is a better fit for their team.

After hearing three-time champion's comments, Enes Kanter did not waste time in responding to LeBron James. Kanter came to the defense of his rookie teammate, making it known that he and the team are more than happy to have Frank Ntilikina in their fold.

While players like Dennis Smith Jr., who played in the NCAA, were highly-touted before they even entered the league, Ntilikina also made waves with his strong performances in Europe. NBA scouts came in frequently to watch him play, leading to his emergence as a consensus top-10 pick ahead of the draft.

In 10 games so far this season, Ntilikina may not be producing the same numbers as Smith, as the former is only averaging 4.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.4 steals, compared to the Dallas Mavericks guard's 14.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, but he is slowly showing a lot of improvement.

More importantly, he is proving that he can thrive under the system of head coach Jeff Hornacek, and can compliment Kristaps Porzingis on the court. If Frank Ntilikina continues his strong showing of late, not only will he be able to change the opinion of LeBron James, but he can also establish himself as a future star in the league.
