After years of free agency disappointments, the New York Knicks finally got their guy. After months of speculation, Jalen Brunson is heading to the Big Apple with a massive deal in hand. Brunson is an amazing player who will likely have an immediate impact on the young guys of the team.

However, there are plenty of skeptics regarding this move. The Knicks moved heaven and earth to sign Jalen Brunson, moving massive contracts and trading draft picks to clear cap space. For many fans, it felt excessive to do that for a point guard that has almost always been a backup in the NBA. However, his NBA peers seem to disagree.

Amid all the fan outrage and backlash, Ja Morant, Mikal Bridges, and Desmond Bane came to the defense of Jalen Brunson. The trio of young stars seemed to mock fans for not knowing just how good the newest Knick can be. (via Tim MacMahon)

Jalen Brunson balled out for the Mavs in his last playoff run there. The former Villanova Wildcat proved to be the perfect second fiddle to Luka Doncic, piloting the offense when he's not on the court. His stock skyrocketed during the playoffs, with many teams (including the Knicks) being enamored by his play.

Is Brunson going to be the piece that puts the Knicks over the hump? Not likely. However, his steadying presence on the team will surely help the development of their young core. It will be interesting to see how New York performs next season with Brunson leading the charge.
