The New York Knicks are having a rocky NBA season so far and there seems to be no turn around in the next few weeks before the end of the NBA regular season. With the Knicks losing nine in a row, head coach Jeff Hornacek stepped in for some advice and warned his players of the hardship of this losing streak.

According to Ian Begley of ESPN, Hornacek warned players about losing and gave them an important message that speaks volumes.

“You should hate to lose more than you love to win.”

The drive of hating to lose should hopefully lead to a win somewhere down the road, but the Knicks are simple struggling right now. The absence of Kristaps Porzingis is playing a huge part in the losing streak as well as he was the team's defensive anchor with his size and mobile abilities.

With Porzingis on the sidelines for the rest of the season and possible even some next year, the defense have truly struggled in every game since his absence. In the past eight of twelve games, New York has allowed 115 points to their opposing team.

The Knicks also do not have an offense to overcome that large deficit as well as the lack of effort across the board in New York is slowing down. New York has failed to prevent any type of penetration, or close battle's on single matchups as the message from coach Hornacek should hit players fast.
