New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis has made the most of his summer by helping his native Latvia through the EuroBasket tournament, notching yet another win under his international belt.

Porzingis shined against Great Britain despite an amazing run in the fourth quarter, helping his team survive the scare in a 97-92 win.

Porzingis out-shined his competition, scoring 28 points on 65 percent shooting from the field, adding eight rebounds, two blocks — including a great run of 15 minutes where he scored 21 of his total points.

Latvia has two wins in three games, losing only to European giant Serbia in the first game of the tournament. Even in that game, Porzingis showed his whole potential, scoring 18 points and adding four blocks.

The unicorn is probably going to be one of the contenders for MVP of the tourney. For now, his strongest competition comes from Chicago Bulls young forward Lauri Markkanen. The 20-year-old has led outsider Finland to a 2-1 record and an upset over tournament-favorite France.

Latvia still has two games left and it will probably need one more win to go to the knockout phase. The team will play Russia next and then have an easier game against Turkey, who came into the tournament with a talent-stricken roster.
