Leon Rose's business partner, William “Worldwide Wes” Wesley, is no longer expected to join the New York Knicks in any formal capacity, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Knicks are expected to hire Rose as their new president. He was a player agent at the Creative Artists Association.

After internal discussions with the New York Knicks occurred about the possibility of “Worldwide Wes” joining the franchise in a front office role alongside player agent Leon Rose, William Wesley is no longer expected to join the franchise in any formal capacity, league sources have told The Athletic.

Rose’s business partner Wesley, better known as “Worldwide Wes” around the NBA has worked in multiple ventures and in the shadows of the industry for years.

Knicks owner James Dolan began exploring the front office model of hiring a player agent shortly after firing Steve Mills. The Golden State Warriors under Bob Myers and the Los Angeles Lakers under Rob Pelinka have had success with the former agent model.

The Knicks' roster is pretty flawed right now, so Rose's main priority moving forward is to hire the right coach to lead the franchise. The former NBA agent reportedly will have Jeff Van Gundy and Tom Thibodeau on his coaching search list, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
