With the recent re-signing of center Mitchell Robinson, the New York Knicks are beginning to put together a solid foundation. Mitchell, placed alongside RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, and newly signed guard Jalen Brunson will look to be the face of this franchise for the foreseeable future.

After the re-signing of Mitchell Robinson, Knicks President Leon Thomas made it very clear how glad he was to get the center back.

“We are ecstatic that Mitchell Robinson, a key member of our foundation, has signed a long-term extension. He’s our defensive anchor, our rim protector, and someone our organization has seen grow tremendously both on and off the court over the last four seasons,” said Rose.

Robinson’s new contract will keep him on the Knicks until 2026. His deal is for four years and $60 million

Since drafting Robinson with the 36th pick in the 2018 NBA draft, the Knicks have relied heavily on him and his presence. Through 230 career games, Robinson has averaged 8.4 PPG, 7.5 RPG, and 2.0 BPG while shooting 72.2% from the field. He is currently the Knick's all-time leader in field goal percentage.

At just 24 years old, Mitchell Robinson still has room to grow and develop into an even better player. With a frontcourt full of young playmakers, the Knicks could have an exciting group this season.

Power forward Obi Toppin has already proven to be one of the game's most exciting young players. Newly signed center Isaiah Hartenstein will look to bounce off of Robinson, which should make things harder on opposing teams.

Heading into this season, Mitchell Robinson will have arguably the best roster around him yet. Given they can produce, he’ll be due for a big season.
