New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson is ready to show off his perimeter jumper.

Robinson posted an Instagram Story, via Newsday‘s Steve Popper, with a shot of his follow-through. The caption reads “F**k it… it's time to bring this out.”

Whether Robinson is actually serious or not is yet to be determined.

The 22-year-old has not attempted a single 3-pointer in his first two-plus seasons in the NBA. Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau also suggested he prefer Robinson address his free-throw issues before trying to morph into a stretch five.

Well, Robinson has yet to do that. He is 8-for-17 from the charity stripe to start the season, dropping his career free-throw mark to 57.7 percent.

This is also not the first time Robinson has hinted at a desire to break out his 3-point shot. A video of him launching from the perimeter surfaced in May, and he previously stated his intent to start firing from deep prior to the start of the 2019-20 season.

But perhaps Robinson feels slowly moving to the perimeter will help the Knicks unlock another element to their offense.

The former second-round pick has seen an increase in minutes this year, averaging just over 30 minutes per game through his first 11 appearances. However, the uptick has not resulted in more year-over-year production thus far.

Robinson is averaging just a slight rise in field goal attempts (6.0, up from 5.6) and rebounds (8.1, up from 7.0) this year. He is actually averaging fewer points and blocks per game, as well.

The Knicks are grinding at 5-6 to start the year, but this is still a roster attempting to discover its strengths. Robinson would like to make the 3-ball a strength, though Thibodeau might have some objections.
