New York Knicks big man Mitchell Robinson just had successful surgery to repair the foot fracture he sustained on Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
This report comes via the Knicks' official Twitter page:

Marc Berman of the New York Post also confirmed the report, and relayed that Robinson is not expected to return this season:
Knicks say Mitchell Robinson had successful surgery today to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. The Knicks didn't give any timetable but nobody is expecting him back for regular season.
— Marc Berman (@NYPost_Berman) March 29, 2021
It is worth noting, however, that Berman noted in his report that Robinson is not expected back for the “regular season.” This could mean that there might be hope that the 22-year-old is able to return for the playoffs.
Entering Monday's matchup against the Miami Heat, the Knicks are currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Things are extremely tight in the East right now, but as it is, it looks like New York has a very good chance of making the playoffs this season — something that the Knicks faithful are certainly praying. Should this come to fruition then there's a possibility that Mitchell is able to suit up for his squad come the postseason. We don't want to jinx it, but this would be New York's first playoffs berth in eight long years.
The Knicks are the winners of three straight and are looking to make it four consecutive wins when they battle the defending Eastern Conference champs on Monday. Miami is in the midst of a slump right now, losing six straight contests, so it is clear that the momentum will be on New York's side.
