The New York Knicks are making headlines for all the wrong reasons — yet again, unsurprisingly. This time around, it is being reported that a group of Knicks fans were kicked out of Madison Square Garden on Wednesday for chanting “sell the team,” as New York put forth another disappointing performance against the Utah Jazz.

The team responded to this claim by saying no individuals were forcibly removed from the arena:

There is some video evidence of security approaching the said group, and even Knicks team insider Mike Vorkunov claims to be a firsthand witness to the same in his tweet above. We're not sure why the Knicks PR team is still trying to deny this, but they're trying to do so.

This is an absolute bum move — even for the Knicks. Fans have been so unhappy with the team's overall performance this season, and it has come to a point that they are now openly expressing their disdain with the team's ownership. To make matters worse, though, the Knicks management seems to be egging on these disgruntled supporters — be it intentionally or otherwise — by enforcing some form of martial law rule within the arena.

For those who may have missed it, we're only a couple of days removed from another alleged incident involving superfan Spike Lee, who claims that he was initially refused entry to the arena because he was trying to go through the wrong entrance. It's a full-on circus in New York right now, and unfortunately for the fans, things are only getting worse.

New Knicks president Leon Rose will do his best to change the perception of the franchise as soon as possible, but he has a big mess to clean up. On the court, New York is a woeful 19-43 in yet another disappointing season.
