Some prominent people at Madison Square Garden remain in support of giving New York Knicks interim head coach Mike Miller a role within the organization regardless of what happens with the coaching search this offseason, according to Ian Begley of SNY.

The Knicks have gone 13-19 under Miller.

Knicks owner James Dolan began exploring the front-office model of hiring a player agent shortly after firing Steve Mills. The Golden State Warriors under Bob Myers and the Los Angeles Lakers under Rob Pelinka have had success with the former agent model.

The Knicks’ roster is pretty flawed right now, so Rose’s main priority moving forward is to hire the right coach to lead the franchise. The former NBA agent reportedly will have Jeff Van Gundy and Tom Thibodeau on his coaching search list, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
