While the NBA's trade deadline is just over 24 hours away, it's never too early to look ahead to free agency. The New York Knicks are one team making big plans for the summer, and they reportedly may have their eyes on Boston Celtics forward Marcus Morris:

Morris suffered a knee injury in December, but he managed to recover. However, the former Kansas Jayhawk was held out of Tuesday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to knee soreness. It's unclear if he'll be available for Thursday's matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Morris has developed into a solid player, and he'd be a fine addition to any team. In his last appearance with the Celtics — a 134-129 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday — the 29-year-old logged 33 minutes, scoring 19 points and seven rebounds.

In 49 games played with the C's this season (32 starts), Morris has racked up averages of 14.8 points on 48.0 percent shooting (41.4 percent from beyond the arc), 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists. He's earning just under $5.4 million this season and will be an unrestricted free agent after this season. Sporting News' Sean Deveney reports he could be in line for a contract worth around $11-12 million annually.

The Knicks have struggled to find a rhythm this season. In fact, New York is currently holding a 10-43 overall record, which is the worst record in the NBA. It seems this organization, like several others, has its eye on the NBA Draft and the big offseason ahead.

Whether or not the Knicks will be able to land Morris in the offseason remains to be seen, but it sounds like they're going to have a go at it.
