As speculation continues to swirl as to what the plan of attack will be for the New York Knicks this offseason, many have pondered who could be sent away in a trade if New York opts to swing big.

RJ Barrett might be the Knicks' best asset when you factor in his age, that he's on a rookie contract still and is coming off a season where he showed drastic improvements.

While others may try to lure the Knicks into dealing away the crafty lefty, don't expect New York to make him part of any trade talks.

According to Ian Begley of SNY.tv, the Knicks aren't interested in doing so.

One other note: People in touch with the Knicks recently came away with the impression that New York had little interest in including Barrett in any trades.

Breathe a sigh of relief Knicks fans. Most (according to social media) didn't seem to hot on the idea of dealing Barrett in any sort of deal. Now, at least for the moment, it sounds as though it won't be on the table.

Barrett averaged 17.6 points per game for the Knicks last season and drastically improved from three-point range. In his rookie season, the lefty was just 32% from three-point land. This past year, he upped that to 40%. His improvements have plenty of people in New York giddy about how many more layers there may be to peel back in his game.

It's very possible the Knicks will make a serious push at acquiring Collin Sexton or swing big and try to get Damian Lillard but, Barrett will likely be held out of all those talks.
