Kratos' voice actor Christopher Judge was the reason behind God of War Ragnarok‘s delayed release, Judge himself confirmed.

Responding to IGN‘s awarding of God of War as the “Best video game of all time,” Judge took to Twitter to sing praises for God of War developers Santa Monica Studio. In a tweet, Judge shares:

“To the beloved fandom, Ragnarok was delayed because of me. August 2019, I couldn’t walk. Had to have back surgery, both hips replaced, and, knee surgery. They waited for me too rehab… No threats, no , “who do you think you are?” Nothing but love and support. And @SonySantaMonica has never said a word about the delay, and what caused it. Studios are assholes, but this company from top to bottom, should give us hope. What they did for the crew is way more that I can’t talk about, but I’ve said to all involved, it’s not he classiest thing that ive EVER heard about in this business. Everyone involved in the GofW franchise puts their hearts and souls in every frame you see.”

Sony Santa Monica not revealing to the public the real reason as to why God of War Ragnarok‘s release has been delayed is a class act. They did so to protect Judge's privacy, as well as not to put pressure on him to recuperate fast. In an industry where crunch time and harassment are the norms, Sony Santa Monica stands as a saint in a sea of sinners. May we have more studios like them.

God of War Ragnarok will be the last God of War game in the Norse Saga. This implies that there will still be future God of War games after this one, but just in a different setting. We can't wait for God of War Ragnarok to come out in 2022. While it would be hard to top off, well, “The best video game of all time,” we're still optimistic about the rest of the series' future.
