The Los Angeles Lakers have been bitten by the injury bug this late in the season, and with plenty of bodies on the shelf, the team is finding it hard to have a strong finish to their 2017-18 campaign. For Lakers rookie forward Kyle Kuzma, the absences of Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram, in particular, are preventing the Lakers from running a smooth offense, per Dan Duangdao of ClutchPoints.

Kyle Kuzma on how #Lakers are adjusting without Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball:

“Playmaking, that’s the biggest thing. Having Lonzo, he’s a dynamic point guard. BI can play a little bit of that point forward role. We miss those guys.”

This comment from Kyle Kuzma came right after the Lakers picked up a bitter 84-83 loss against the Sacramento Kings at home Sunday night. Kuzma finished the game with only 13 points on a mediocre 5-for-16 shooting from the floor. As a team, the Lakers only converted 40.0 percent of their field goal attempts.

Without Lonzo Ball, the Lakers missed someone who could set them up for easier shots. The Lakers settled taking plenty of challenged three-pointers and by the end of the game, had a ghastly 7-for-32 line from behind the arc. Los Angeles also missed Brandon Ingram’s ability to score in a variety of ways.

Ball has now been absent in two games since suffering a knee contusion in a win over the Dallas Mavericks last Wednesday. Ingram, on the other hand, sat out the Kings game with a concussion he sustained during last Friday’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
