While many teams are already being linked to be Kyle Lowry’s next destination, the Toronto Raptors still have a big chance of re-signing him.

Despite a recent report suggesting that he will bolt out of Toronto, the All-Star point guard took to his Twitter account recently to make it clear that he has not closed his doors on them, and that unless something comes from him, speculations should not be believed right away.

The 31-year-old Villanova product does make a strong point as he indeed never said that he will not consider remaining with his current team. The Raptors also have the ability to offer him the most money in free agency, and it should be a big factor in his decision making.

Lowry was long linked to his hometown team, the Philadelphia 76ers, but after they traded for the number one pick from the Boston Celtics to draft Markelle Fultz, it’s now certain that they will no longer pursue their local hero anymore. However, there are a number of teams expected to make a pitch once free agency starts.

Lowry will most likely command for a max contract from teams wishing to land his services. Fit and his relationship with other players will definitely factor in as well, but at this point, he is still far from making his final decision for his future.

The tweet he posted is a strong message for everyone who is already speculating on where he wants to play next, but as Lowry said, nobody knows that yet, even himself, and it will only be final once it comes directly from him.
