Anthony Davis is one of the best big men in the NBA and is often considered a Top 5 talent. However, for Richard Jefferson, that is the biggest disrespect the Los Angeles Lakers star can get.

In a recent appearance on Gilbert Arenas' No Chill podcast, the former Cleveland Cavaliers forward and one-time champion alongside LeBron James took a jab at Davis and highlighted why no one calls him a “Top 5 player” despite being a champion and proving what he can do at the highest level, on the biggest stage of basketball.

For Jefferson, it's consistency that's preventing AD from getting into that truly elite status.

“No one calls him a top five player,” Jefferson said, per Lakers Daily. “They call him a top five talent. A top five talent is one of the most disrespectful things. The reason why I call you a top five talent and not a top five player is because top five players do it every single night.”

Richard Jefferson is certainly harsh with his assessment of Anthony Davis, but it is not without reason. The biggest frustration about The Brow has always been his ability to stay healthy, having  played in just 36 games with the Purple and Gold in 2020-21.

With that said, it sure looks like Jefferson wants to see some consistency from AD as the Lakers try to get back to the promised land. LA has retooled this season, but for them to be truly successful, they certainly need their All-Star big to be on the floor.
