Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis is probable to face the Denver Nuggets on Sunday despite having ankle soreness.

Davis' right ankle is still sore.

Davis has been a monster in his first season with the Lakers. The All-Star forward is averaging 27.7 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 49.6 percent from the field, 30.0 percent from beyond the arc and 85.6 percent from the free-throw line.

In 27 games this season, Davis has 13 double-doubles.

The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference. They are 24-5. However, the Lakers are currently on a two-game losing streak. They are coming off road losses to the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks. Davis didn't play versus Indiana.

Davis and the Lakers take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Christmas Day in what could potentially be the game of the year. Paul George didn't play for the Clippers in the first game of the season against the Lakers. Everyone wants to see LeBron James and Davis go up against Kawhi Leonard and George at Staples Center.

The Nuggets are four games back of the Purple and Gold in the West standings. Denver is 19-8 on the season. Davis and the Lakers need to send a message to the Nuggets that they aren't in LA's class just yet.
