The Los Angeles Lakers simultaneously hired two veteran coaches in the offseason: Frank Vogel as head coach and Hall of Fame point guard Jason Kidd as an assistant.

This dynamic led many to wonder how long the two would last together given Kidd's prior history between the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks. However, according to a new report, the two Lakers coaches are in a “great place.”

Per Bill Oram in The Athletic:

“We’ve worked hard from the beginning to make sure we were establishing not only a working relationship together but a friendship, which has been fantastic and a real bright spot to my season,” Vogel said of his partnership with Kidd. “And I think we’re both, just both in a great place with what we’re trying to accomplish as a tandem and as a coaching staff here.”

Along with Kidd's past in attempting a coup with the Nets — leading to his ousting and next tenure with the Bucks – the presence of star forward LeBron James could pose as dangerous, too.

In James' second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the future Hall of Fame clashed with the head coach David Blatt and leaned towards former player Tyronn Lue. James' relationship with Kidd raises flags about the longevity of Vogel, but so far that doesn't seem to be the case.

Additionally, it helps that the Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference, and everything on the surface is hunky-dory in La La Land.
