Los Angeles Lakers superfan O'Shea Jackson, Jr., son of famous rapper and activist Ice Cube, had a few choice words for ESPN analyst Jackie MacMullan over her assumptions about LA's merchandise sales.

MacMullan joined “The Jump” to discuss the Lakers breaking the NBA's merchandise selling record after winning the 2020 NBA title. Jackson was clearly on standby as he heard MacMullan give her controversial take on the team's accomplishment.

“Well of course the Lakers have the most merchandise sales,” started MacMullan. “Why? They're a wait-and-see fanbase. We know this about them…I'm telling it like it is. There's a lot of competition in Hollywood. You've gotta win before these guys are going to open their wallets.”

There has always been a presumed bias for certain reporters when it comes to their preferred teams. For MacMullan, that team has often been speculated to be the Boston Celtics, historic rivals of the Showtime Lakers. She ended her bold statement with a sarcastic “good for them” line, a nod to her subliminal loyalty to Boston.

In all seriousness, respect should be given when it's due. This was easily MacMullan's worst nightmare as it was for any other Celtics fan, as the Lakers' 17th championship now ties that of Beantown for most titles in NBA history.

If the Lakers want a chance at repeating for another championship in 2021, they'll have to make some tough choices in the offseason to better serve LeBron James and Anthony Davis–on the assumption that Davis resigns.
