Everyone was impressed by the Los Angeles Clippers' showing this year, which included a great series against the Golden State Warriors. However, hip-hop mogul and Los Angeles Lakers fan Ice Cube wants something more from the Doc Rivers-led squad.

On ESPN's The Jump, NBA legend Scottie Pippen asked Ice Cube if he has some jealousy towards the Clippers success this season, as opposed to the Lakers' failure to qualify for the playoffs.

Ice Cube's response says it all:

It was a strong statement. The Lakers have a total of 16 banners up the rafters of Staples Center. The Clippers, meanwhile, have none. It seems that Ice Cube is not at all impressed by the Clippers' impressive campaign this year. It didn't move him that the team had no superstars. They only had a terrific sixth man in Lou Williams and a reliable cast as well.

Be as it may, Ice Cube's comments might have added more fuel to the fire in the battle for LA. From a broad perspective, the Lakers are the superior organization. But from the present standpoint, the Clippers are the much better team and deserve all the hype. Put simply, the Purple and Gold have to start winning if they want to be in the discussion and shut down all the criticism surrounding them.
