In his first time back in the NBA since he was on a ten-day contract last year for the New Orleans Pelicans, Isaiah Thomas got in the game on Friday for the Lakers. It was a road game for the Lake-Show, so he was greeted by Minnesota Timberwolves fans, instead. The greeting he got, though, made it seem like Thomas was an all-time Timberwolves great– when in reality he has never even played for the franchise.

That is the type of impact that Thomas has made on the game of basketball as one of the most exciting, tough, and easy to root for players in the league. Whether it has been with the Lakers, the Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, or the Pelicans, Thomas has always shown up for the fans and they have always returned the favor with lots of love in almost every arena.

As far as the game went, Thomas certainly held his own in his return to the court. In eight minutes of action, IT scored seven points and got to the free-throw line three times. If he can continue to contribute like this he will easily find himself coming into more minutes. The Lakers are currently without guards Malik Monk and Kendrick Nunn, among others, and cannot afford to be playing inexperienced players in their stead. The team is struggling enough as is, let alone trying to force guys into a rotation that have never played much NBA ball before. Thomas does not have that issue and he will fit in just fine with the Lakers.
