Magic Johnson, the former President of Basketball Operations of the Los Angeles Lakers has made several appearances on ESPN shows to explain why he resigned from his post. He said one of the reasons was the fact that people were calling him out for his lack of commitment with his job.

Magic was a guest on ESPN's First Take a couple of weeks ago to explain his side on the matter, saying that when the Lakers brought him in, he had an agreement with team owner Jeanie Buss that he can't fully commit as the team's president because he can't leave his businesses. Johnson was also a guest on the network's preview of the NBA Finals, where he denied the allegations that he was abusing Lakers employees.

ESPN's very own Jalen Rose reacted to these statements by Magic, saying that Magic did his job to hold every person on the Lakers organization accountable for their mistakes. However, Rose added that Johnson was inconsistent in terms of his commitment to as the top executive of the Lakers.

Rose made a really good point by saying that when Magic accepted the job, he said that he was willing to set his businesses aside for the Lakers, but now that he's out of the organization, all of a sudden he's saying that he had an agreement with Buss.

There has been a lot of talk about the Lakers being a dysfunctional franchise over the past couple of years, and Magic was initially brought in a couple of years ago to restore order. But instead of doing that, he's become one of the reasons why the team can't seem to get any type of stability.

And his inconsistent statements are really not helping.
