The endorsements for LeBron James continue to pile up after President Donald Trump's criticism of the Los Angeles Lakers star. Numerous fellow players have chimed in to back LeBron, and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver released a strong statement Saturday touting The King's achievements.

The Lakers have now come out with an official statement of their own, with owner Jeanie Buss highlighting how proud the organization is to have LeBron in the fold.

“We could not be more proud to have LeBron James as part of our Lakers family. He is an incredibly thoughtful and intelligent leader and clearly appreciates the power that sports has to unite communities and inspire the world to be a better place. Those efforts should be celebrated by all.”

Like Silver, Buss noted how intelligent LeBron is but didn't mention Trump's name. The line about sports uniting communities takes aim at Trump, as James said in the CNN interview with Don Lemon that the president is using athletics to divide rather than unite. That interview is what drew Trump's ire and prompted the Friday night tweet insulting LeBron's intelligence.

Buss' statement is short yet positive and effective, and many others around the NBA will surely continue to rally around James.
