Kobe Bryant gave his taken on the Zion Williamson dilemma, after the Duke forward injured his knee in a rivalry game against North Carolina, playing only for less than the opening minute of the long-awaited game. The Los Angeles Lakers icon noted it wasn't his decision to make, but later resulted in the principle of his decision to attend college and play for Duke.

“Players should be able to choose and decide what the hell they want to do, to be honest,” said an initially noncommittal Bryant, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “Whether you want to go to college or not really depends on you.

“In terms of Zion, if he’s healthy, he should go play. He made a decision to go to college and injuries are a part of that process and sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you don’t, man. But you made the decision to go to college and you made your commitment to the university, then by all means finish your commitment. I expect him to get healthy, get his knee better or whatever it was and come out and kick a**.”

Many have jumped to evaluate his situation, but Bryant is right in saying it is the kid's decision to make, not up to former players or analysts offering their takes.

Williamson is believed to have only a mild knee sprain, but the Duke doctors are being utmost careful in bringing him back. The Blue Devils have gone 1-2 since he went down to injury, losing a blowout to UNC at Cameron Indoor Stadium and most-recently against Virginia Tech on Tuesday.
