After their successful start in the young 2019-20 season, the Los Angeles Lakers still haven't earned the respect of several critics.

They have defeated several of the strongest teams both in the East and West, yet people continue to say that the Purple and Gold have not matched up with the best of the best just yet.

Kyle Kuzma, probably annoyed by all the criticisms, has a scathing guess as to why people continue to discredit the Lakers. At the end of the day, win or lose, people will always have something to say.

“Everybody is just going to say something about us just because we’re the Lakers and we’re winning,” Kyle Kuzma said, per Bill Oram of The Athletic. “A lot of people are probably jealous of us.”

The Lakers recently wrapped up a three-game road trip with three straight victories. And they did not just go up against mid-tier or bottomfeeding teams. They put up convincing victories over the Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Even veteran forward Jared Dudley chimed in on the matter via Twitter.

Perhaps, it's all part of the process. Winning puts you up on a pedestal where everybody can see you. The Lakers have become one huge bulls eye that everybody wants to throw shots at — good or bad.

However, as many have observed, this crop of the Purple and Gold have a special bond that allows them to ignore the noise and just continue playing basketball.
