If the playoffs started today, the Los Angeles Lakers would be on the outside looking in. The season hasn't gone the way Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka envisioned it to when they signed LeBron James last summer, but Kyle Kuzma is remaining optimistic and says the team has to do two things if they want to make the postseason.

After the Lakers lost to the lowly Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, Kyle Kuzma told reporters if the players come together as a group and start having fun again, Los Angeles can go on a run after the All-Star break and make the postseason.

We’re not in the playoffs right now, so there’s definitely going to be a push, “Kuzma said, via Christian Rivas of Silver Screen and Roll. “I believe that we can still do it. We’ve just got to come together, have fun. The biggest thing is just having fun.”

The Lakers have a record of 28-29, which is good for just 10th place in the Western Conference standings. LeBron hasn't missed the playoffs since his second season in the NBA.

In 53 games this season, Kuzma is averaging 19.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest. The second-year swingman is shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 31.9 percent from beyond the arc and 76.5 percent from the free-throw line.
