Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom recently released an autobiography that details all the ups and downs of his rather colorful life.

Surely, it will be filled with stories depicting his darkest days, especially during his bouts with drug addiction. However, one of the more inspiring parts of the memoir will be Odom's testimony on former teammate Kobe Bryant, and how the 18-time All-Star made such an impact on his life both on and off the court.

Odom gave us a preview of his thoughts on Bryant in a recent Instagram post, explaining how the latter served not only as a wonderful teammate, but as a father figure to Odom as well.

These are some pretty powerful words from Odom, and is probably one of the most amazing things a player can say about his teammate. Primarily because of his extremely competitive nature, Bryant is considered by some to be a bad teammate, but this statement from Odom here simply blows these accusations out of the water.

Odom and Bryant played alongside each other in L.A. for seven seasons between 2004 and 2o11. During this span, the Lakers won two NBA titles, and on both occasions, Odom played an instrumental role in the team's memorable championship runs.

Odom made a total of 519 appearances for the Lakers, averaging 13.7 points (on 49.1 percent shooting), 0.7 three-pointers, 9.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.9 blocks. The 6-foot-10 forward was awarded the Sixth Man of the Year trophy in the 2010-11 season, which was his final year with the team.
