Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James have a lot of haters in the NBA. While he is considered the greatest player in today's game, some people can't help but criticize him for his actions–with a number of people blaming him for the “Big 3” movement and the abuse of the “player empowerment” idea.

However, former Golden State Warriors coach and current TV analyst Mark Jackson doesn't see anything wrong with the creation of the superteams and the player empowerment era the NBA is in today. Jackson emphasized how important it is for the players to have control of their life and their decisions, which James normalized but doesn't get enough credit for.

“LeBron James changed the game, and he doesn’t get enough credit for that. He changed the game not only as a basketball player, but he changed the game as a businessman. He allowed guys to realize the power that they have],” Jackson shared in a recent appearance on Club Shay Shay.

“LeBron changed the game for guys to understand the power that they have as businessmen and making the right decisions. So Kevin Durant decides ‘I want to go to Golden State,' it's alright. And then Kevin Durant decides ‘I want to leave Golden State and go to Brooklyn,' it's alright. People realize it's their future, their legacy, and they have to make the right decision.”

Mark Jackson certainly makes a great point. While the superteams and the player empowerment era do have its negative effects, it can't be denied that it has helped a lot of athletes and allowed players to do what they want for themselves and their career.

And true enough, LeBron James is at the center of it all since he took the first step for other athletes to follow. Unfortunately for the Lakers star, his slew of haters won't admit it and just blame him for the lack of power balance in the NBA today.
