The Los Angeles Lakers got a dominant win over the Dallas Mavericks thanks to the incredible efforts of LeBron James. In fact, his extraordinary outing is also worthy of praise: he passed his idol and basketball legend Michael Jordan on the all-time field goals made list. It's an incredible achievement that deserves high praise.

Immediately after the game, he was asked about his thoughts on his achievement. Being the consummate professional, he responded that he's honored to have made history and is hopeful that he's making the other basketball greats, his family, and his fans proud of what he has accomplished.

ESPN shared the clip of James' interview with Jorge Sedano:

Everyone knew during the early days of the season that LeBron James will likely pass Jordan in this category. He's continuing to defy logic as he continues to play dominant basketball at such an advanced age. At the ripe old age of 35, James is averaging 25.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 10.8 assists as he's deferring more of the scoring to Anthony Davis.

However, AD was nowhere on the court during this game due to his injured tailbone. He took over for the Purple and Gold and put up incredible numbers, finishing the night with 35 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and a steal.

Moreover, he and Luka Doncic gave fans an enjoyable basketball game. You can say that James is responsible for Luka's incredible basketball talent as he inspired Dallas' Wonder Boy to be a multi-faceted player.

Lakers fans can expect more of the same from James as the season continues. More games like this will likely happen as long as AD is still out of the lineup.
