The game on Wednesday between the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans was a hotly-contested affair with Isaiah Thomas and Rajon Rondo were both being ejected from the game. Luke Walton was also thrown out later on as he continuously complained to the referees after not agreeing to a call they made on Kyle Kuzma.

The often calm-mannered head coach was uncharacteristically hot under the collar, which surprised a lot of fans who watched the game.

When asked to give his thoughts about his ejection, the 37-year-old instead shared what his father, Bill Walton, told him after. He said that the 1977 MVP jokingly told him that he failed as a father, and also added, via Bill Oram of the SoCal News Group, that it was already the second instance he told him that, recalling the time Bill first found out about his tattoo before.

Brian Shaw took over the coaching duties after Walton's early exit, but not having him and Thomas proved to be costly for them as the Lakers lost their second consecutive game in a blowout, 139-117. Anthony Davis led the Pelicans' charge finishing with an impressive stat line of 42 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks, while Jrue Holiday had 24 points, four rebounds and 11 assists of his own.

The Lakers received solid performances from small forward Brandon Ingram and power forward Julius Randle, who combined for 41 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists on the night, but their efforts were not enough to lead the Lakers to a road win.

Walton is expected to pay a fine for his uncharacteristic outburst during the game and he is expected to make sure not to allow his emotions get the better of him moving forward as Walton knows how valuable his presence is for the Lakers every game.
