The Los Angeles Lakers are currently being led by superstar forward LeBron James and former New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis. However, while they have already looked impressive at times early on in the 2019-20 regular season, former team president Magic Johnson believes that the eventual addition of a currently injured Kyle Kuzma will help them even more.

According to Magic, Kuzma's return will take significant pressure off both James and Davis.

“Kyle Kuzma is [going to] take a lot of pressure off LeBron [James] and [Anthony Davis],” Johnson said on the Undisputed. “I see him working in the gym. I'm talking about a gym rat. A guy who gets there earlier than anybody: 6 a.m. [or] 7 a.m. Anybody would love to play with Kyle Kuzma. He is a guy that loves the lights.”

Despite the fact that Johnson previously left the Lakers front office in quite the abrupt fashion, it is obvious that the Los Angeles legend is still keeping tabs with the Purple and Gold.

While Johnson makes a valid point, it is not necessarily rocket science to state that a solid player returning to the fold will help take some of the pressure off of the team's two star players. Nonetheless, the question might be if Kuzma can immediately make an impact after some time on the sidelines.

It remains to be seen as to when exactly Kuzma will make his way back into the Lakers' rotation, as the up-and-coming forward is currently dealing with a lingering ankle injury.
