Los Angeles Lakers small forward Michael Beasley claims that the reports about his heated confrontation with head coach Luke Walton this past Saturday in Golden State are not true.

After the Lakers lost to the Warriors, multiple reports came out stating that Michael Beasley had a verbal confrontation with Luke Walton about playing unselfishly.

The former No. 2 overall pick says it never got physical, though, and that he respects Walton.

“This past Saturday after the Warriors game, Coach Walton and our team had a conversation after a tough loss. Despite reports to the contrary, there was nothing physical between Coach Walton, me, or any other teammate,” Beasley told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “I’ve sat back in the past when stories have been twisted and misreported, but I won’t do that this time. I respect Luke and I respect this team. We are trying to win a championship together.”

Lakers center JaVale McGee also commented on the report, telling Haynes all the reports were “fake news.” Los Angeles entered Tuesday's match-up with the Indiana Pacers at 27-26, 10th place in the Western Conference standings.

As everyone knows, the Lakers have been trying to acquire Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans. The trade rumors likely played a part in what took place in Golden State.
