The Los Angeles Lakers announced on November 15 that Rajon Rondo would miss four to five weeks while he recovers from right hand surgery, but that's not going to stop the veteran point guard from lobbying to get back sooner.

According to Lakers small forward Brandon Ingram, Rajon Rondo has been trying to practice ever since the first day he broke his hand, per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints.

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Rondo loves basketball and is one of the fiercest competitors we have in the game today. Not being able to play the sport has got to be killing Rondo.

Rondo signed a one-year deal with the Lakers in July after spending last season with the New Orleans Pelicans. He began the season as the starter, but he lost his spot to second-year point guard Lonzo Ball after he was suspended four matches for spitting and punching Houston Rockets All-Star guard Chris Paul in the second game of the year.

In 11 games so far this season, Rondo is averaging 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists. The four-time All-Star is shooting 45.5 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from beyond the arc and 50.0 percent from the free-throw line. The Lakers’ defense has been better this season when Rondo has been on the court compared to when he is on the bench.
