The Los Angeles Lakers will be without Rajon Rondo in Game 2 against the Portland Trail Blazers, but JR Smith and Dion Waiters could crack the rotation.

Via Bill Oram of The Athletic:

Rajon Rondo is recovering from thumb surgery. It's possible we could see the veteran guard in Game 3 or 4. He appeared in 48 games during the regular season for the Lakers and averaged 7.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 20.5 minutes per contest.

JR Smith and Dion Waiters, meanwhile, were late-season additions to the Lakers. Los Angeles shot the ball terribly in Game 1 against the Blazers, so fans of the team want head coach Frank Vogel to play Smith and Waiters over Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who scored only one point in Game 1 and missed all of his shots from the field.

Los Angeles has to win Game 2 to avoid going down 0-2. Fans of the club are praying the team shoots the ball better from deep than they did in Game 1.
