Los Angeles Lakers backup point guard Rajon Rondo is going to be out for the next couple of weeks while recovering from a broken hand, but that doesn't mean he's not going to have an impact on the team and starting point guard Lonzo Ball.

As everyone knows, Rajon Rondo watches film probably more than anyone in NBA history. He never stops talking, whether it's in practice or during the games. The veteran guard is essentially a coach on the floor who loves to lead by example and help his younger teammates by staying in their ear and teaching them lessons.

According to Lonzo Ball, who will see extended minutes now that Rondo is out, the four-time All-Star constantly talks trash to him during practices in an effort to wake him up and get him more engaged, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

“Yeah, he'll try to get into me,” Ball said. “Just stuff to try to get me going. He talks a bunch of trash in practice all the time, which makes me pretty mad.

“I told him, my whole life I [respond to] getting yelled at [by the coach] so that is how I respond … if you see stuff, just yell at me. I tune into it. That is how he tries to help me out.”

In his second season with the Lakers, Lonzo Ball is averaging 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 40.9 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 61.5 percent from the free-throw line. The former No. 2 overall pick has been playing really good defense this season on opposing point guards, a byproduct of learning from and playing with Rajon Rondo.
