The Los Angeles Lakers will have to wait for a few more days before returning to action.

The Western Conference Finals was originally slated to start on Tuesday. However, that schedule has since been adjusted after the Denver Nuggets completed a miraculous come-from-behind victory against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

Now, the NBA has pushed the series back to three extra days, with Game 1 now scheduled to start on Friday, Sept. 18.

The Lakers advanced to the Conference Finals after defeating the Houston Rockets in Game 5 on Saturday night. However, Denver's stunning comeback will result in extra rest for LeBron James and Co.

These NBA playoffs have offered incredible drama, and the Nuggets have been at the center of it.

Denver overcame a 1-3 deficit to defeat the Utah Jazz in the first round, with Jamal Murray and Donovan Mitchell exchanging salvos and dazzling fans with their offensive exploits.

It seemed NBA fans were in for more of a ho-hum affair after the Clippers took a 3-1 lead over Denver, but the Nuggets again had other plans and laucnhed multiple comeback victories to force a Game 7 on Tuesday.

Anyone hoping for a “Battle of L.A.” series — which many predicted before the season began — will have to wait until Tuesday to see which team advances to face the Lakers.

LA will have to avoid getting rusty after such a long layoff, though. The Lakers lost Game 1 in each of their first two NBA playoffs series this 2020, but the proceeded to win the next four contests on both occasions.

The Eastern Conference Finals will still begin on Tuesday, but the West bracket has been pushed back thanks to the Nuggets.
