The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off another disappointing season missing the playoffs for the fourth straight year, extending the longest playoff drought in franchise history.

With that in mind, the Lakers' new management is looking to make improvements to the team ahead of next season. However, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical is reporting that the organization isn't looking to move Timofey Mozgov or Luol Deng in any packaged deals at the cost of any young talent or picks being involved.

Despite Paul George once again voicing his desire to join the team in free agency next summer, the Lakers are pumping the brakes a bit of pause on making trades for Mozgov and Deng just for dumping salary. The front office appears to have their eyes on a much grander down the road concerning the fate of the two veteran players.

At the same time, the Lakers are not looking to unload any of their young players and draft picks in order to move these big contracts. It' something that they would rather wait for the right scenario to present itself before making any rash decisions.

Each is under contract for three more years with Deng having $54 million remaining and Mozgov with $48 million left on their respective deals. These are still sizable chunks that could be hard to sell teams on taking on their payroll with multiple years still left.
