Midway through the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors' matchup at Staples Center, LeBron James and Kevin Durant were spotted by the TV cameras having a private chat near the home team's bench.

This could be nothing or this could be something close to nothing. But it's James and Durant, two of the biggest personalities in the NBA today, so every move of theirs are sure to be scrutinized and offered to the meme gods for consumption.
Too bad James only got to match up against the Warriors once this season during Christmas Day. Ironically, even though the Lakers won, that day marked the start of the team's downward spiral. James sustained what's probably the worst injury of his cybernetic career and the Lakers never got back on their feet.
On the other hand, Durant and the Warriors are making us realize that this is going to be another championship season for the back-to-back title holders. Still, they needed some sort of turbulence to keep the players on their toes and there's no better storyline than Durant's immediate future.
Amid rumors that dangle the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets into the fray, the Lakers have also been mentioned among the possible destinations for Durant.
Whatever these two larger-than-life athletes are talking about, we might never get know. One thing's for sure, this game was never a contest from the beginning.
