With the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers set to battle it out in their season opener, LeBron James was unsurprisingly asked about Kawhi Leonard and his offseason decision to choose the Clips over the Purple and Gold franchise.

However, “King James” wound up giving quite the hilarious answer.

To recall, during free agency, most fans and experts predicted Leonard going to the Lakers and snubbing both the Clippers and the Toronto Raptors. However, in a stunning turn of events, Kawhi decided to choose the “other LA team” and even recruited Paul George to join him.

James, however, has already commented on the situation before, admitting that he was also excited when Leonard ultimately chose the Clippers.

“I thought we had a chance,” James very recently told the Orange County Register. “That’s all you can ask for. We put ourselves in position to have a chance to get him. When he went to the Clippers, I thought that was just as cool. It was great for our league, and he had to do what was best for him. And we all respect that.”

While the Lakers-Clippers battle serve as the main card of opening day, the New Orleans Pelicans and defending NBA Champion Toronto Raptors will start things off ahead of the LA clash.
