The BIG3 has given numerous NBA players of recent past a second chance at professional basketball play. As such, the league is very well-suited for someone like 37-year-old Lamar Odom, who has not seen action in the NBA since the 2012-13 season and after his near-fatal suicide attempt a couple of years back.

Odom's rise and fall is considered by many as a heartbreaking journey, but not for BIG3 player-coach Charles Oakley.

TMZ Sports recently caught up with Oakley and asked whether or not he'll consider having Odom join his BIG3 team. The former All-Star didn't think twice about turning down the idea:

“In life, sometimes you only get but one chance. He's had three or four chances. I mean, he can play. Talented guy. I'm just saying… I don't want him on my team.”

Oakley's no-nonsense demeanor is what makes him such an intriguing NBA personality, so his refusal to possibly have another well-known big man join his side was pretty inevitable. Then again, perhaps the 53-year-old baller was just preventing having to share playing time with another decorated power forward, especially considering that he's relatively been under the media spotlight ever since he decided to join the BIG3 himself.

One thing's for certain: Odom's realizing now that it's actually easier to keep up (and put up) with the Kardashians than trying to keep up to date with the rest of the professional basketball community.
