Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson is really looking forward to facing the Washington Football Team in Week 10.

Washington waived Peterson in September, just seven months after the club exercised the $2.5 million team option on him for the 2020 season. The future Hall of Famer signed a one-year, $1.05 million contract with the Lions three days after getting waived by Washington.

“I would be lying to you if I told you that chip on my shoulder wasn't there,” Adrian Peterson said in an exclusive interview with WUSA9's Darren Haynes.

“They will get to realize what they let go. It was an awkward situation. It was like bam, I was cut, just like that with no notice.”

In 31 games with Washington, Peterson carried the ball 462 times for 1,940 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 37 balls for 350 yards and one score.

With the Lions this season, Peterson has racked up 350 yards on the ground and scored two touchdowns on 93 carries.

The Lions, after losing to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9, are now 3-5 on the 2020 season. They are tied with the Vikings for third place in the NFC North standings.

It's going to be interesting to see how well Peterson does against Washington in Week 9. Both the Lions and Washington Football Team are going to miss the playoffs this season, but that doesn't mean the Week 10 game won't have some juice in it since Peterson is looking for revenge.
